33 668 RUR
431 000 RUR
Dates of fundraising: January, 30th – June 7th.
Donation purpose: To organize a first ALS festival in Russia – the Cornflower Picknick.
Problem at hand
We are in need of funds for our festival to be truly marvelous, spectacular and interesting. We can’t just take money from charity accounts, where you are currently donating for the Foundation to work. Donating for a charitable celebration is not the same as donating to rehabilitation for our patients.
Description of the project
June 2020 will be marked by a traditional ALS Awareness Month. Our Live Now Foundation will celebrate its anniversary – 5 years since it was created.
That is why we have decided to take example from our “older brother” – foreign ALS associations, who are not faint hearted when it comes to a massive celebrations and spectacular shows. These events attract attention of thousands of people to the problems that families with ALS face. And we want the same thing – we want people with ALS and their families to stop being invisible to the public eye and the government.
On the 7th of June we are planning to start an ALS charity festival Cornflower picknick in the center of Moscow city (we will specify a precise location later, when the set will be officially given a green light). Cornflower picknick is a festival of joy of living here and now, where everybody can find something. Cornflower picknick is about happiness, harmony with oneself and the world, about stopping putting life on a shelf.
We have big plans: live music, a lot of delicious food, on open picknick in an open air, flowers, art classes and public talks, classic picknick-variety activities – from croquette to checkers and Scrabble. We want to find something in our Cornflower picknick for children and adults, families and single people, those who like active rest or vice versa.
The event will be held at one of the most popular and beautiful places in Moscow, which means it’s a chance to raise awareness about ALS in thousands of people!
There is one catch. The beauty, the spectacle and the interest require funding. We can’t just take money from your currently donations for the Foundation to work. Donating for a charitable celebration is not the same as donating to rehabilitation for our patients.
That is why we open a special fundraising to organize the first ever ALS festival in Russia – the Cornflower Picknick.
The estimate is 431 000 rubles. These funds will cover the rent of the hall and furniture, printing of promotion materials and souvenirs, assembling, disassembling and logistics, technical equipment of the stage and art classes materials.
Obviously, we will try to minimize our spending: we will bring our great volunteers, find companies who will agree to help us free of charge. All unspent money will be transferred to ALS Service directly.
P.S. The Cornflower picknick has a history. The first ones were organized in June by ALS families, doctors, volunteers. These informal meetings in the open air inspire all those, to whom “ALS” is not an empty word. After all, people with ALS know better what it means to live here and now.
